Over recent decades, advances in prenatal diagnosis have made it possible to accurately identify fetal and placental conditions, define risk profiles, and determine the optimal timing for completing the pregnancy. However, in most labour wards, fetal care continues to follow uniform protocols, regardless of physiological status or clinical history.
Over three days, Barcelona will bring together leading international experts in maternal–fetal medicine, cardiotocography (CTG) interpretation, midwifery, neonatology and anaesthesiology to debate, share knowledge and shape a care model that is more precise, more humane and safer.
The scientific programme will be organised into thematic areas. Each module will include:
- An initial pathophysiological review led by prenatal diagnosis specialists
- An update on the physiological interpretation of the cardiotocography (CTG) trace and its clinical correlation
- A consensus panel focused on establishing evidence-based management criteria
